Male European beewolf guarding its territory.

Welcome to the homepage of the Evolutionary Ecology Research Group at the Department of Animal Ecology and Tropical Biology, University of Würzburg!

Our research focuses on the behavioral, evolutionary and chemical ecology of Hymenoptera, and we are mainly working on three different model organisms: the European beewolf (Philanthus triangulum, Hymenoptera, Crabronidae), the sweat bee Lasioglossum malachurum (Hymenoptera, Halictidae), and the red mason bee (Osmia bicornis, Hymenoptera, Megachilidae).
