Open Source Physics
Core Library

Open Source Physics is an NSF-funded curriculum development project hosted at Davidson College that is developing and distributing a code library, programs, and examples of computer-based interactive curricular material.

The OSP library is a free Java class library for writing computer simulations.  This Java archive contains class (compiled) files for the core library including:

• Scatter, line, and histogram plots
• Lattices, vector fields, scalar fields, complex fields, contour plots
• User-interface components for handling input and output
• Drawing framework for easily performing custom visualizations
• Ordinary differential equation (ODE) solvers
• Three-dimensional drawing framework
• Save the state of a simulation in XML
