- Studies in Geology/Paleontology at the University of Hamburg (Apr. - to June 1999)
- Internship & scientific research assistant in Brazil (may to June 2004) on small mammal population structure (in Coop. with the University of Hamburg)
- Studies in Biology at the University of Göttingen (Oct. 1999 to June 2001, special interest in ecology and anthropology), the University of Manchester (Sep. 2001 to June 2002, animal behaviour, zoology & anthropology) and the University of Würzburg (Sep. 2002 to 2007, tropical biology, sociobiology & geobotany)
- Diploma thesis at the University of Würzburg (2007), title: “Population genetic analysis of a West-African tree-hole breeder, Phrynobatrachus guineensis (Amphibia: Anura: Phrynobatrachidae).” Supervisors: Prof. Dr. Mark-Oliver Rödel and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Rössler. In cooporation with Dr. H. Feldhaar (Department Behavioural Physiology & Sociobiology)

- Phd on the population structure of the viviparous Nimba toads (Nimbaphrynoides occidentalis and N. liberiensis) and influencing habitat parameters
