Field Trip to the Bundorf Solar Park: Where Energy Meets Biodiversity
Students from the “Global Change Biology” course visited Bundorf Solar Park to explore how sustainable energy production can support biodiversity.
Last week, students from the “Global Change Biology” course went on a field trip to Bundorf Solar Park. A representative from MaxSolar guided us through the award-winning facility and explained how solar parks can be managed to deliver renewable energy, reduce CO₂ emissions, and at the same time provide habitats for wildlife. The formerly agricultural land now hosts species like skylarks and swallowtails. The tour offered valuable insights into site management, its challenges, and the opportunities solar parks offer for conservation. A great example of how economic use of land can go hand in hand with ecological benefits.
