Nadja Simons has joined the University of Würzburg as a junior professor in May 2023.
The team of the junior professorship investigates the role of biodiversity in habitats used by humans.
We investigate how management decisions influence the functional biodiversity of arthropods and how these affect changes in the provision of ecosystem functions. We also aim to understand how conservation of biodiversity and ecosystem functions are considered in decision-making processes.
We combine basic ecological research with application-relevant questions and thus build a bridge between ecology, society and politics.
In terms of content and organization, we are closely linked to the Department of Animal Ecology and Tropical Biology (Zoology III) and the Field Station Fabrikschleichach.
