Research Interest

My current research aim is to understand the mechanism of multisensory integration, primarily between olfactory and visual information using Drosophila melanogaster as a model organism. Using behavioral assays, functional imaging and connectome analysis we will investigate how bimodal experience influences the innate responses and uni-sensory processing at primary as well as higher brain regions. Along with identifying the neuronal and the molecular substrate of the multisensory generalization, we will further explore how the general principle of multisensory processing is modulated with aging.
