Lecture 3: Results 1. unknown amino acid sequence - the sequence is coding for a protein originated from Galdieria sulphuraria - the supposed protein function is a cellulose-binding protein or glycine cleavage system protein R - yellow highlighted are sequences scoring below threshold on previous iteration - the protein in the UniProt database: https://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/J3QW32 2. UniProt - BRCA2_Human is more related to BRCA1 from mice than to BRCA1 from human - additional information about annotations and amino acid properties are also provided 3. SMART - following domains were found for BRCA1_Human: RING domain, low complexity region, coiled coil and BRCT domain - the protein shows 84 phosporylations 4. Histon-acetyltransferase - Prosite: you will find 2 motifs, a Gcn5-related N-acetyltransferase (GNAT) and a Bromodomain - AnDom: the first hit will also be a N-acetly transferase 5. Glutathione reductase - you get several hits regarding to the glutathione reductase - PFAM: two matches (Pyridine nucleotide-disulphide oxidoreductase and Pyridine nucleotide-disulphide oxidoreductase, dimerisation domain) - InterPro: 7 matches. The most important matches due to the protein function of glutathione reductase are - FAD binding domain - NAD binding domain - catalytic domain (glutathione reductase, pyridine nucleotide-disulphide oxireductase - dimerisation domain
