All sampling campaigns in the GCEF completed!
DFG-Funded Project Examines the Impact of Climate Change on Grassland Ecosystems: Sample collection completed
In June our second and last sampling campaign in the “Global Change Experimental Facility” took place, which completes the fieldwork for our DFG funded project investigating global-change effects on above-belowground multitrophic grassland communities. Together with last year’s sampling we successfully collected 300 soil samples and 120 aboveground fauna samples in total. These will be analyzed to investigate the effects of climate change and land use on invertebrates.
Many thanks to the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) and its staff, who manage the GCEF as well as the research group of Prof. Dr. Nico Eisenhauer at iDiv in Leipzig, which supports us with field work and analyses.
