Our Research
Humans are changing our planet in many different ways. These changes have profound impacts on biodiversity and ecological systems.
In our research, we investigate how biodiversity changes in space and time from the local to the global scale and how interacting anthropogenic drivers - in particular climate and land-use change - affect species, their interactions, ecological communities and biodiversity patterns.
We are interested in the ecological processes that determine biodiversity change as well as the consequences of these changes for ecosystem functioning.
A significant part of our work also lies at the interface between science and society. This is why we are actively involved in science communication and promote dialogue with the public and stakeholders from various areas of society.
