Theoretical Biology Group

My research lies at the crossroads of evolutionary biology, cultural evolution, cognitive science of music, and ethnomusicology. Currently, I am interested in analyzing processes of musical transmission and change through the application of conceptual tools from evolutionary developmental biology. My research aims to develop a theoretical framework that can contribute to a better understanding of the complex dynamics of cultural inheritance and change that operate across multiple temporal and spatial scales.
