This paper reports the first biochemical characterisation of an ant neuropeptidome. The peptidomic project was part of the Master thesis of Franziska Schmitt from the group of Wolfgang Rössler at the chair of Behavioural Physiology and Sociobiology, and represents a fruitful cooperation within the SFB 1047 between our chairs here at the Biocenter, as well as the group of Andreas Schlosser at the Virchow Center and Jörg Kahnt at the MPI in Marburg.
