Bavarian's Minister of Education and Science, Ludwig Spaenle, awarded Anke Krüger from the University of Wurzburg for "well-taught lessons at the state-run universities in Bavaria". The award comes with a € 5,000 prize money.

Anke Krüger and the second awardee, Philipp Singer, were recommended by their home university on the basis of students’ votes. Both impressed the students by outstanding commitment in the area of teaching, including a great readiness to help students with any kind of problem and professionality regarding the mediation of knowledge in a light and exhilarating way.

Anke Krüger has been Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Wurzburg since 2008. Her lectures "Organic Chemistry 1" and "Introduction to Organic Chemistry for medical doctors and dentists" received excellent evaluations results in the past years.

Furthermore, she is a very active programme officer of the dual study programme with the École Supérieure Chimie Physique Électronique de Lyon (CPE Lyon). The Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy states that she not only engaged in individually supporting the students, but she is majorly responsible for the transformation of the study course into Bachelor/Master and accomplished the accreditation at the German French University in 2009. At the moment she is trying to establish a second dual study course with the "Institute national des sciences appliquées de Rouen" (INSA de Rouen). Last but not least she has also been coordinator of the student exchange programme Erasmus for all chemistry courses.

Philipp Singer, a graduated educator, was also awarded for his outstanding commitment in the area of students' support and his successful way of imparting knowledge. Please click here for a more comprehensive article in German.
