THE BIOCENTER OF THE UNIVERSITY OF WÜRZBURG

Scientific workshops at the Theodor Boveri Institute at the Hubland campus

A highly specialised central precision workshop supports all the facilities of the Biocenter in the production of special equipment, prompt repair services, and maintenance tasks. This guarantees efficient and well equipped research and teaching operations. The central workshop also trains several trainee precision mechanics.

In our scientific workshop, precision mechanical and electronic research and test equipment is designed, developed and built, in consultation with the scientists of the Biocenter. The research equipment is also maintained, safety checked and repaired.

The skills and equipment of the central workshop are also available to other areas of the university.

Our precision mechanical equipment includes a CNC milling machine, a UV-curing glue station, a refrigeration unit, and various grinding machines. Other activities such as carpentry and welding work are also possible. We are also equipped for the repair and calibration of piston-operated pipettes. We have various measuring and testing apparatus, including special instruments for testing and maintaining laboratory equipment.

Members of the Biocenter can place orders with the workshop online:
