I am investigating how different populations of Megaponera analis across sub-Saharan Africa evolved rescue and wound care behaviors, and what evolutionary drivers may lead to the emergence of these behaviors.

To better understand this, we conduct field observations, behavioral expeirments, and also examine the prey–predator relationship between M. analis and its termite prey across populations.

My study also involves studying the above and below ground soil microbial communities in Mozambique where M.analis forages.

Analyzing cuticular hydrocarbon profiles of these ants help us understand how do they communicate/signal their infected states to their nestmates.
