3D represenntation

3D representation of the spatial distribution of chromosome pairs 18 and 19 in the nucleus of a human connective tissue cell. The front and rear poles of the nucleus have been cropped, the outside of the nucleus is blue, the inside white. The chromosomes are individually coloured using the chromosome painting method. One can see that they occupy clearly distinct nuclear territories – chromosome 18 is in the nuclear periphery, chromosome 19 is in the centre of the nucleus (Thomas Cremer, LMU Munich).
