Molecular organization of the meiotic nucleus

During meiosis, homologous chromosomes pair and synapse to recombine. This process not only provides genetic diversity but is also crucial for haploid gamete formation and ultimately fertilization. Both haploidization and recombination depend on the interdepended assembly of meiosis specific structures. My goal is to investigate the molecular architecture of these meiosis specific structures and their inherent function, using electron tomography and super-resolution microscopy.
